Every dog has it’s day, and Mother’s Day 2010 was most definitely Dallas Braden’s moment in the sun. Facing a potent Tampa Bay Rays squad oozing with offensive firepower, DB absolutely shoved for 9 innings en route to the 19th Perfect Game in baseball’s one hundred some-odd-year history. Who knows what exactly was fueling Dallas’ fire on Sunday. Was it his feud with the fashionista third baseman from the Bronx? Or perhaps a tribute to his late mother who fell ill to Cancer years ago. Whatever the case may have been, Dallas Braden will now go down in Oakland Athletics history, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Dave Stewart, Rollie Fingers, and Dennis Eckersley. None of which, mind you, ever tossed a perfecto.
